The objective is to provide a platform for researchers, scientists, practitioners, and policy makers to share and present new advances, research findings, perspectives, and experiences in Disaster, Irrigation and Water Management towards Nexus (WEF) and Sustainable Development Goals. Special attentions will be given to develop certain skills or competence, or general upgrading of performance ability for climate change adaptation, participatory water management, disaster and environmental management, and sustainable development in the monsoon Asia. The conference will bring together leading executives researchers, engineers, scientists, and officials in the domain of interest from around the world
New Technologies for Water and Environmental Management
Session A:
Session B:
Session C:
Session D:
Plenary Session Presentations (about 94 papers)
ASEAN Forum (for executives)
Selected manuscripts from THA2019 proceedings will be recommended to be published in the Engineering Journal (EJ) : International Journal ISSN 0125-8281 (indexed with ESCI, Scopus etc.) or HRL in the Special Collections of THA2019 (Scopus indexed).
THA2019 will be running with paperless basis. Conference materials can be downloaded by scanning QR code. For more information/agenda/registration/payment, look at our website.
SWOC : Smart Water Operation Center (Royal Irrigation Department)
The center was recently opened to be a single command (data integrator) to monitor the weather and rainfall, analyze water situation and warn critical water situations. The center also disseminates water information to publics and support the decision making to executives with accuracy, on time and sharply updating (more details in http://wmsc.rid.go.th/).
1. Nexus training
Training will provide background, international samples in waterenergy-food and environment issues and assessment tool to analyze complex system by integrating with the socio-economic development which will support policy makers, researchers and students to apply such systems.
2. Downscaled MRI-GCM data applications
The training covers introduction to the 5-km-mesh regional climate model (NHRCM) developed at Meteorological Research Institute (MRI) of the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). The dynamic downscaling was performed over the Southeast Asia Region. During training, participants will get to process the data with provided tools. NHRCM provides reliable tool for climate change analysis at a fine spatial and temporal resolution.
